My paintings are inspired by Hebridean scenes. Currently my work involves older blackhouse style dwellings on the island. More modern housing have been designed sympathetic to this style, it does feel part of Tiree’s identity. I like to use masking tape to create straight lines on my work, it helps convey a sense of peace in the image, which is a draw to the island to visit or to live. I use acrylic on mdf board, and hand craft solid pine floating frames on island.
